Yamaha is proud to announce the arrival of not one, but two new 9.9hp Four Stroke models, the F9.9 and the special High Thrust version the FT9.9.

Based on the technically advanced Yamaha F8 model that has already proved so popular since its own launch, they are the most compact and economical 4-stroke outboards in their category. In fact, they're almost identical in size to the orginal Yamaha 2-stroke 9.9 making them the perfect choice for anyone wishing to move up to the convenience and economy of Yamaha's 4-stroke technology without adding extra bulk or weight to their transom.

Truly light in weight and with integral handles for easy portability, both models are feature-packed and very easy to use, offering the outstanding performance and reliability the world has come to demand and expect from Yamaha.

They also lead their class with whisper-quiet operation, a frugal appetite for fuel and by offering the very convenient option of power tilt. 

Featuring an in-line twin cylinder design with SOHC both models feature an enhanced 212cc aluminium block (15cc larger than the F8) and new propellers, specially designed to give these engines smooth, reliable power and impressive torque.

The amazingly versatile FT (High Thrust) version uses a higher gear ratio and their patented Dual Thrust propeller to deliver the extra thrust and stopping power needed for heavier boats or where pushing and pulling power is more important the top speed.

For the FT model, a long multi-function tiller handle will be available, with convenient front-mounted engine controls, all designed to make the remarkable engine easier and simpler to use than ever.
